The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has announced that the World Cities Culture Summit 2024 will occur from October 30 to November 1, 2024, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture. This event underscores Dubai's growing influence on the global cultural landscape. In 2023, Dubai secured the right to host the summit for the first time in the MENA region, marking a significant milestone in the city's cultural evolution.

The summit aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a global cultural center, fostering creativity and talent while showcasing its robust infrastructure. The event is guided by the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This year's theme, “Tomorrow’s Culture: How Will the Next Generation Shape our World?”, reflects a commitment to inspiring youth and future generations to innovate and contribute to cultural legacies. Discussions will focus on how cities can support the creative economy and nurture talent, emphasizing culture’s role in shaping sustainable future cities.

The summit's global agenda includes an opening ceremony at Al Shindagha Museum, featuring sessions that highlight youth contributions to cultural policies, funding models for cultural projects, and the integration of culture in healthcare systems. Attendees will explore innovative solutions for climate awareness and showcase strategies for empowering future generations.

Dubai Culture will host a public session discussing essential skills for cultural and creative professionals in a rapidly changing world. Notable international speakers will share their visions for the future of culture during the ‘Ideas for Tomorrow’ sessions. The summit will also launch the third round of the ‘Leadership Exchange Programme’ supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, promoting collaboration between cities.

Organized by Dubai Culture, the summit will take place across various cultural hubs, allowing delegations to experience Dubai's unique offerings and bolster cultural tourism. The Authority will showcase innovative products from Emirati and UAE-based artists, supporting the cultural and creative industries.

Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, stated that the summit provides an inspiring platform for cultural leaders to exchange knowledge and form partnerships, reinforcing Dubai's role in enriching the global cultural movement and stimulating cultural exchanges.

Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, Project Manager of the World Cities Culture Summit Dubai 2024, emphasized that this year's edition will focus on youth's role in shaping the cultural landscape and fostering new cultural projects to support the creative economy.

Justine Simons OBE, Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries in London, expressed excitement about the summit, highlighting Dubai's diverse cultural landscape and the importance of collaboration in fostering global cohesion.

The summit, a flagship event of the World Cities Culture Forum, is a leading network for cultural policymaking, uniting city leaders to share insights and explore culture's role in social and economic development. With over 45 member cities, the summit provides a platform for collaboration and cultural policy improvement.
