Dubai Customs made a significant interception at Dubai Airports, halting an attempt to smuggle 4.25 kilograms of marijuana by a female African traveller. The illicit substance, cleverly concealed within compartments of a car engine air filter, was detected during a routine inspection by vigilant customs inspectors.
The interception unfolded when customs officials grew suspicious of the contents within the traveller's luggage. Upon closer examination, they uncovered hidden compartments, leading to a thorough search that ultimately revealed the illegal stash of marijuana.
Following the discovery, authorities swiftly apprehended the traveller and confiscated the contraband. Both the suspect and the seized narcotics were handed over to the Dubai Police General Directorate for Narcotics Control to initiate legal proceedings.
