The UAE witnessed unprecedented disruption as it grappled with the aftermath of the heaviest rainfall in 75 years. Airports, malls, and offices found themselves submerged, while motorists abandoned vehicles on waterlogged roads. Residents rushed to repair leaky roofs, and some were left without essential services like electricity and water.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) labeled the weather event as "exceptional" and "historic," with one station in Al Ain recording a staggering 254mm of rainfall in less than 24 hours. Several stations surpassed 200mm, far exceeding the country's average annual rainfall of 100mm.

Authorities worked tirelessly to drain flooded streets and restore normalcy. Fortunately, the NCM's latest forecast suggests that the worst is behind us. Convective clouds are expected to form over coastal areas, gradually dissipating by noon, with no further showers predicted until Sunday.

Temperatures are set to rise gradually, accompanied by partly cloudy conditions and a chance of fog and mist until Saturday. Meanwhile, neighboring Oman bore the brunt of the same low-pressure system, experiencing more intense impacts, including flash floods that claimed the lives of at least 18 people.
