WGEO and UNDP Partner at COP29 to Boost Transition Towards a Global Green Economy

At COP29, a big promise was made to fight climate change. His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Ahmed Al Tayer, Chairman of the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO), and Abdallah Al Dardari, a UN official, signed an important agreement. This agreement will help countries build a green economy and lower pollution. It also supports the Paris Agreement goals to protect the planet.  

The plan will help nations keep their promises under the Paris Agreement, called Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The work will focus on key areas like trading carbon credits, finding ways to reduce and handle climate changes, managing land and water better, and keeping track of progress. These actions aim to protect the environment and help people live better lives.  

His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer said, “This agreement makes our mission to create a green economy stronger. We can work together to lower carbon emissions and make the planet healthier.”

A special group, called the Steering Committee, will lead the partnership. They will plan projects that will help countries keep their promises and attract money for green work. These efforts will help meet climate goals faster.  

WGEO and UNDP will also hold events, share information, and start programs to teach people about green economies. They want governments, businesses, and people to follow eco-friendly ways to live and work.
