In line with the UAE’s "Year of Community," Emirates Foundation, in partnership with Aldar Properties, organized a volunteer event called Better Together: Volunteer to Give Back to Workers. This national event encouraged people and groups to show kindness, work together, and help those in need.
The event was held at Space42 Arena in Al Raha, Abu Dhabi. It aimed to recognize the important work that many workers do in building and maintaining the UAE’s cities. These workers play a big role in making the UAE successful, from creating the buildings to keeping the city systems running every day. Aldar Properties believes that taking care of workers’ well-being is a key part of progress that benefits everyone.

As a way to show thanks to these workers, over 1,600 volunteers from all over the community gathered to pack and hand out 24,000 gift packages to workers across the UAE. The event was joined by many different groups, including students from Aldar Education schools, volunteers from the Emirates Foundation’s Takatof program, and Aldar employees. Together, they spent more than 6,500 hours helping out. This shows the community's strong sense of unity and commitment to helping others.
The volunteers worked in three shifts from 9 am to 6 pm, showing teamwork and the spirit of giving that is part of the "Year of Community." The event highlighted the importance of working together and giving back to those who contribute to the country’s growth. It was a real-life example of how institutions and the community can come together for a good cause, reflecting the UAE’s vision of being a caring and united society.
His Excellency Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi, CEO of the Emirates Foundation, shared: "At Emirates Foundation, we believe that volunteer work is one of the best ways to bring people together and strengthen our society. Better Together shows how much our community values the workers who help us every day. It also teaches every volunteer the importance of respect, kindness, and gratitude. This kind of initiative helps build a more connected, caring, and inclusive UAE."
Talal Al Dhiyebi, Group CEO of Aldar Properties, added: "This partnership shows how united local communities are in supporting workers, who are essential to the UAE’s growth. This initiative is part of our goal to create an inclusive culture, and we are proud to be involved in the many activities planned for the Year of Community in 2025."
Emirates Foundation continues to promote teamwork and community spirit through partnerships and activities that support people in need. These efforts help create a society that values giving, solidarity, and appreciation for everyone who helps the nation grow.
