During the week of April 4–10, 2026, the Vietnamese government, led by the Prime Minister, unveiled significant policy reforms aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and economic innovation. These initiatives are designed to facilitate better governance and support the nation's development framework.
A standout measure was Resolution No. 66, which seeks to streamline and simplify the administrative processes concerning business operations across 14 different ministries. This initiative is anticipated to lighten regulatory burdens and foster a more favorable business climate.
Furthermore, the government is focused on revamping operational methods within the political landscape to boost efficiency. A comprehensive plan has been introduced to modernize administrative functions, lessen redundant meetings, and encourage the adoption of IT solutions within governance.
In a pivotal move, the Prime Minister sanctioned revisions to regional planning for six key areas projected through 2030, with aspirations stretching to 2050. A proposal designating Dong Nai as a centrally governed city was also approved, underscoring significant urban development progress.
Changes to economic and social policies include elevating the income cap for individuals purchasing social housing. New guidelines now permit higher income brackets, making housing more attainable for a larger demographic.
The government has also rolled out long-term strategies, such as the aim to cultivate 1,000 pioneering enterprises by 2030 and to facilitate the international expansion of Vietnamese businesses. These initiatives are tailored to improve global competitiveness, innovation, and broader integration.
Additional reforms involve the promotion of scientific research in academic institutions, the launch of a comprehensive national entrepreneurship strategy, and stricter regulatory frameworks in vital sectors including electricity, environment, and food safety. These measures signify Vietnam’s dedication to sustainable development and modernization.
