Berlin, Cologne – Thousands of members of the Kurdish diaspora took to the streets across major German cities this week in solidarity with Northeast Syria (Rojava). Demonstrators protested against the Syrian transitional government’s recent military offensive, demanding an end to international silence and the protection of Kurdish autonomy.
The protests also called for an immediate halt to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. Activists emphasized the importance of democracy, human rights, and regional peace amid a fragile security landscape, sending a unified message from European cities to the mountains of Kurdistan.
