Germany has strongly condemned the Iranian authorities for using violence against protesters, as large-scale demonstrations continue to grip Tehran.
According to reports, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets in what is being described as one of the biggest waves of protest in years. The unrest has spread across the capital, reflecting growing public anger.
During the demonstrations, several banks, businesses and religious sites have been set on fire, with arson attacks on financial institutions and holy landmarks adding to the severity of the situation.
Berlin’s statement comes amid concerns that the escalating violence and heavy-handed response by authorities could further deepen the ongoing crisis in Iran.
