The park will help many people get work. About 20,000 jobs will be made while the park is being built. After it opens, another 8,000 jobs will be given to people in hotels, shops, and other fun places inside the park.
This park is expected to have 8.5 million visitors in its first year. In Europe, only Disneyland Paris gets more people than this.
Universal Studios already has parks in places like California and Florida in the USA, and also in Singapore, Japan, and China. These parks have fun rides and shows based on movies like Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and more.
The Prime Minister of the UK, Keir Starmer, said he is happy about this new park. He believes it will bring a lot of money and visitors to the UK. He also said Bedford will become one of the biggest places in Europe for fun and joy.
The plan includes a big theme park with different areas based on movies, a hotel with 500 rooms, and many shops and places to eat.
The President of Comcast, Mike Cavanagh, came to London to show the plan to the Prime Minister. He said he is very happy to bring Universal Studios to the UK and wants to make something very special for families.
In 2023, Comcast bought a large piece of land in Bedfordshire. It used to be a brick-making place. The land is about 55 miles from London. Comcast also owns Sky, which is the biggest TV company in Europe.
The UK government and Comcast have been talking about this plan for some time. The government has also agreed to make Luton Airport bigger, which is close to the park area. This will help more people visit the park from other countries.
