A United Airlines flight bound from Miami to Newark was disrupted when a female passenger became aggressive towards flight attendants shortly after departure. United Airlines Flight 762, departing from Miami International Airport on Tuesday evening, was forced to divert to Orlando due to the disruptive behavior of the unnamed passenger.
According to United Airlines, the passenger's behavior escalated quickly, prompting flight attendants to intervene in order to protect other passengers. Cellphone footage obtained by TMZ captured the chaotic scene onboard, showing the woman shouting and using profanity towards fellow passengers while flight crew members attempted to restrain her. In the video, flight attendants are seen using zip-ties to secure the woman's wrists as she resists and attempts to bite one of the crew members.
"Let go of me; I'm a f****** girl. What are you gonna do, kill me?" the woman can be heard shouting in the footage. She continued to berate the crew, accusing them of mishandling the situation and unjustly restraining her.

The situation necessitated the intervention of law enforcement upon landing in Orlando, where police officers boarded the aircraft and escorted the woman off. Fellow passengers reportedly applauded as the disruptive passenger was removed from the plane.
United Airlines confirmed that the flight crew made the decision to divert to Orlando to ensure the safety of all onboard. Subsequently, the flight experienced a delay of three and a half hours as a new crew was assembled in Orlando to continue the journey to Newark.
Following her removal from the plane, the woman was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation, as confirmed by the Orlando Police Department. As of Wednesday, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
The disruption adds to a growing number of incidents reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) involving unruly passengers. As of 2024, the FAA has received 893 reports of disruptive behavior aboard flights, reflecting a concerning trend in aviation safety.
Efforts to reach the Orlando Police Department for further details on the incident were ongoing at the time of reporting.
