An Umm Al Quwain school has emerged as a standout finalist in the global World’s Best School Prizes, securing a coveted position in the top 10. These awards, backed by T4 Education and major partners including Accenture and American Express, aim to elevate educational excellence in areas like innovation, sustainability, and student wellbeing.

Each year, schools worldwide compete across five categories—Community Collaboration, Environmental Action, Innovation, Overcoming Adversity, and Supporting Healthy Lives—sharing a total prize fund of $250,000. Finalists in each category stand to win $50,000.

Umm Al Quwain’s shortlisted school joins other UAE leaders in education excellence. In previous years, schools like Mamoura British Academy and GEMS Modern Academy represented the Emirates in the same global competition. Their recognition confirms the region’s drive toward high-impact learning outcomes and sustainable practices.

Organisers emphasise that shortlisting reflects both academic performance and broader societal contributions. Projects such as sustainable food practices, renewable energy programs, and community engagement initiatives often feature in winning entries.

Public voting on the initial 50 shortlisted schools began in mid-June and will run alongside evaluations by an expert Judging Academy. Finalists will be announced later in the year, and winners are scheduled to be revealed by October.

For Umm Al Quwain—even without large-scale private educational infrastructure—the nomination represents a major achievement. It highlights the emirate’s growing educational ambitions, aligning with broader UAE goals to bolster regional teaching standards and boost global recognition.

T4 Education founder Vikas Pota noted that such recognition aims to spotlight schools that are “transforming the lives of students and making a real difference to their communities". UAE representatives have praised the awards as validation of the nation’s push toward sustainable and inclusive education.

Umm Al Quwain officials are expected to promote the nomination across local forums and social platforms to rally community support ahead of public voting. The school may also host open events and sharing sessions showcasing its environmental or innovation-led educational programs.

If successful, the UAE finalist will benefit not only from the prize funding but also from global visibility, invitations to the World Schools Summit in Dubai, and access to a network of peer institutions worldwide
