The United Arab Emirates has sent Monkeypox vaccines to five African countries—Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire, and Cameroon—as part of its efforts to help manage the ongoing Monkeypox outbreak. This initiative aligns with directives from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is part of the UAE’s broader humanitarian mission to support global efforts in tackling health crises.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, emphasized that the UAE’s support underscores its dedication to global humanitarian and healthcare initiatives. He noted, “The support offered highlights the significant importance placed by the UAE on enhancing global humanitarian and healthcare efforts and affirms the country’s steadfast commitment to assisting other nations during crises and disasters.”
