UAE President Welcomes South Sudan President for Strengthening Ties

On Saturday, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan warmly received His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, who arrived in the UAE for a working visit.

The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed greeted President Salva Kiir and expressed his commitment to strengthening the friendly ties between the UAE and South Sudan. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation, especially in key areas like economy, investment, agriculture, renewable energy, and infrastructure development.

These sectors are seen as crucial for promoting sustainable economic growth and improving the well-being of people in both nations. Expanding partnerships in these fields would help create more opportunities and contribute to future prosperity.

During the discussion, the leaders also shared views on various issues of common interest, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to address shared challenges.

Several UAE officials attended the meeting, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, along with other senior representatives.

This meeting highlighted the strong relationship between the UAE and South Sudan, showing both nations’ desire to work together for a brighter and more prosperous future.
