UAE President Forms Board of Trustees for Erth Zayed Philanthropies, Led by Theyab bin Zayed

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued Federal Decree No. 142 of 2024, officially forming the Board of Trustees for Erth Zayed Philanthropies. This esteemed board will be chaired by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

The decree highlights the composition of the Board of Trustees, which includes prominent figures committed to advancing humanitarian and charitable causes both within the UAE and internationally. The members of the Board include:

• Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State
• Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of The Founder’s Office
• Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office
• Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development and member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council
• Rashid Saeed Al Ameri, Advisor at the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs
• Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organisations and member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council
• Saeed Rashid Al Zaabi, Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs

These individuals have been chosen for their expertise and their dedication to the vision of the UAE, which seeks to enhance its humanitarian efforts on the global stage. The newly formed board is tasked with overseeing Erth Zayed Philanthropies’ initiatives to foster sustainable development, promote a culture of giving, and extend assistance to communities worldwide.

The announcement was followed by a statement from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting global humanitarian causes under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed. Sheikh Mansour emphasized that the UAE would continue to enrich its contributions to humanitarian, charitable, and developmental efforts, both internationally and domestically.

“Our aim,” Sheikh Mansour said, “is to build a more cohesive and supportive global community through the collective actions of our philanthropic organizations. Erth Zayed will play a key role in driving these initiatives, in collaboration with other entities within the foundation’s ecosystem, to ensure long-term global impact.”

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the chairman of the board, expressed the foundation’s deep commitment to the legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He noted that Erth Zayed Philanthropies represents the continued dedication of the UAE to preserve the humanitarian vision set by Sheikh Zayed.

“The foundation will focus on initiatives that support sustainable development and strengthen communities across the globe,” Sheikh Theyab said. “We aim to build upon Sheikh Zayed’s mission by ensuring that humanitarian efforts are sustained through impactful and well-coordinated global programs.”

Erth Zayed Philanthropies, under the patronage of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, was officially established in November 2024 through Federal Decree No. 126 of 2024. The foundation, affiliated with the Presidential Court, operates as an independent legal entity, empowering it to manage and oversee various humanitarian entities and initiatives. Its mission is to advance the UAE’s humanitarian objectives, ensuring that the philanthropic legacy of Sheikh Zayed continues to grow and benefit communities worldwide.

With the formation of the Board of Trustees, Erth Zayed Philanthropies is poised to play a critical role in the UAE’s global efforts to promote peace, support sustainable development, and address humanitarian challenges.
