UAE Ministry warns against fake Emiratisation with strict penalties.

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has issued a stern warning to both the national workforce and private sector companies regarding the serious repercussions associated with engaging in Fake Emiratisation practices. This unethical conduct, aimed at circumventing Emiratisation targets, not only undermines the nation's workforce policies but also deprives deserving individuals of opportunities for employment and advancement.

Fake Emiratisation refers to various deceptive practices employed by companies to manipulate Emiratisation quotas and regulations. This includes hiring UAE nationals in nominal positions without actual job responsibilities or rehiring them in existing roles within the same company solely to meet Emiratisation requirements. Such practices exploit loopholes in Emiratisation policies, known as Nafis, for personal gain at the expense of genuine Emiratisation efforts.

In response to this issue, MoHRE has outlined stringent penalties to deter such misconduct. Violating companies face fines ranging from AED 20,000 to AED 100,000 per incident, with additional consequences such as referral to the Public Prosecution, downgrading of classification within the Ministry's system, and mandated achievement of genuine Emiratisation targets. Individuals involved may also face penalties, including suspension of Nafis benefits and recovery of any financial gains obtained through Fake Emiratisation.

To combat Fake Emiratisation effectively, MoHRE encourages individuals to report any instances promptly through various channels, including a dedicated hotline, the Ministry's official app, and its website. By fostering transparency and accountability within the labor market, these proactive measures aim to uphold the integrity of Emiratisation policies and ensure equitable opportunities for all UAE nationals. As the UAE remains committed to empowering its national workforce and promoting sustainable development, combating Fake Emiratisation is essential to achieving these goals.
