The Ministry of Interior (MoI) shared the on social media, saying it worked with other important groups like the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).
This change is part of the UAE’s plan to improve life for everyone and to help reach the “We the UAE 2031” goal, which aims for a better future with more technology and progress.
To help people use drones safely, the MoI has shared the rules and instructions through the UAE Drones app and the official government website.
In addition, NCEMA has launched a new platform called the Unified National Platform for Drones. This platform will let people register and follow the rules when flying drones in the UAE.
This step is part of a bigger plan that started in November 2024. Before this, there were stricter rules because of a safety concern. In January 2022, there were attacks in Abu Dhabi that made the government put a stop to drones and light sports aircraft flying in the country. This ban was extended for some time to make sure everyone was safe.
Now, with the new rules, the government is allowing people to use drones again, but they must follow the rules to make sure it’s safe for everyone.
