UAE Joins 2nd Day of 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum

The Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council (FNC), led by Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee, actively participated in the second day of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum held in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The delegation included prominent FNC members Sarah Falaknaz, Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, Ahmed Mir Hashim Khoori, and Afra Rashid Al Basti, Deputy Secretary-General of Parliamentary Communication at the FNC.

A key focus of the discussions centered around "The Role of Parliaments in Confronting the Disintegration of the Multilateral Trading System and Overcoming Threats Related to the Outcomes of Global Crises." Marwan Al Muhairi, in his remarks, underscored the pivotal role of parliamentary bodies in tackling contemporary challenges and promoting global cooperation.

He emphasized the critical support needed for multilateral institutions like the World Trade Organization (WTO), stressing the imperative of bolstering these entities with adequate resources and funding. Al Muhairi advocated for maintaining the principles of free and equitable trade, essential for fostering international stability and prosperity.
