Air India Express has unveiled Xpress Lite Fares for travelers on UAE-India routes, bringing reduced airfares for those opting to travel without check-in baggage. The budget carrier, a subsidiary of Air India and part of the Tata group, introduces Xpress Check-In, allowing passengers to skip queues and baggage belts. The package includes a complimentary +3 kg cabin baggage allowance and offers discounted pre-booked prices for +15 kg and +20 kg check-in baggage allowances.
This new offering, applicable on India-UAE routes, adds flexibility and convenience for guests booking Xpress Lite fares. Operating 340 daily flights connecting 31 domestic and 14 international airports, Air India Express plays a crucial role in the aviation sector. Specifically, the airline operates 195 flights per week between India and UAE, serving major cities like Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain. The carrier also manages 308 flights per week across the Gulf region.
Aloke Singh, the managing director of Air India Express, expressed plans to enhance capacity in the Gulf region, including the UAE, and improve connectivity for Gulf travelers in various Tier 2 and 3 cities across India.
Passengers opting for Xpress Lite Fares not only benefit from a standard cabin baggage allowance of 7kg but can also pre-book an additional 3kg cabin baggage for free during the booking process or later through the airline's website or mobile app. For those requiring check-in baggage services, pre-booking options for 15kg and 20kg excess baggage slabs are available at discounted rates. Additionally, passengers can conveniently purchase check-in baggage services at the airline's counters at the airport.
Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India Express, stated that Xpress Lite Fares have the potential to redefine convenience in air travel while delivering exceptional value to passengers.
