Scheduled for November 5 and 6, the 2024 meetings promise significant organizational and procedural changes. These adjustments reflect an evolved agenda, revised priorities, and fresh objectives that build on the frameworks established in previous years.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted that these enhancements to the UAE's governance structures align with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. The overarching goal is to elevate government performance and competitiveness, further establishing the UAE as a model of governmental efficiency globally.

Al Gergawi emphasized the UAE's ongoing commitment to creating a proactive and efficient government model, a commitment underscored since the inception of the Annual Meetings in 2017. This year’s sixth session will notably incorporate national retreats and dedicated sessions with local governments, focusing on empowering young leaders in government and amplifying citizen engagement in discussions. The meetings will also celebrate national project achievements and acknowledge those responsible for their successful implementation.

The first day of the meetings, designated as Day 0, will feature exclusive gatherings for the Cabinet, five federal councils, and various national and local committees. Prior to the main agenda, there will be three national retreats focusing on key themes such as national identity, family dynamics, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, eight panel discussions will explore national priorities, featuring insights from leaders across federal and local government sectors.

Al Gergawi detailed that the comprehensive agenda will encompass over ten plenary sessions addressing critical future directions in areas like the economy, investment, AI, education, sports, and community empowerment. Exclusive meetings for the executive councils of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah will also be part of the schedule, showcasing important local and national achievements through interactive exhibits and events.

The meetings will evaluate the outcomes of various national strategies and initiatives under the "We the UAE 2031" vision, ensuring alignment with the UAE leadership's long-term goals for national development. By unifying efforts at both federal and local levels, the Annual Meetings will facilitate discussions on developmental agendas, review past achievements, and address challenges encountered throughout the year.

In alignment with the UAE's decade-long vision, the meetings will focus on social, economic, and investment initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life, reinforcing the UAE's global standing, and highlighting its effective economic model. Additionally, discussions will cover the approval of policies designed to enhance government services continuously, thereby strengthening the UAE's competitiveness on the global stage.

The Annual Meetings are intended to shape comprehensive visions and development plans that prioritize quality of life for all citizens, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for upcoming generations while advancing the UAE's objectives as it works toward the Centennial 2071 plan.

Initiated in 2017 under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's leadership, the UAE Government Annual Meetings serve as a platform for ministers and local government representatives to unify efforts, discuss developmental challenges, and collaboratively design the nation's future vision.
