In a video posted on Instagram, the Public Prosecution made it clear that the UAE has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to hate speech. This means that anyone who encourages hatred, no matter how they do it, will face strict penalties.
The law in question is the Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2023, which focuses on tackling discrimination, hatred, and extremism. According to Article 7 of this law, spreading hate speech through any form of communication, including digital platforms, is a crime that can lead to heavy fines or a prison sentence.
The UAE government is taking a firm stand against hate speech to protect society and promote harmony. Anyone caught inciting hatred will face the consequences of their actions, making it clear that such behavior is not acceptable in the country.
