The United Arab Emirates has expressed its sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the Republic of India following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171 near Ahmedabad, which claimed the lives of more than 260 people.

In an official statement issued on June 12, 2025, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed heartfelt solidarity with the Government and people of India during this time of profound loss.

"The United Arab Emirates has expressed its solidarity and sincere condolences to the Republic of India over the victims of the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad Airport, which resulted in dozens of deaths," the Ministry said.

The MoFA also extended its thoughts and prayers to the families and loved ones of the victims, recognizing the scale of human tragedy the incident represents.

Though no UAE citizens were on board, the loss has resonated deeply within the South Asian expatriate community in the Emirates. Many residents in the UAE have family ties in India, and the news has been met with widespread mourning, especially in cities like Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.

“We join our UAE Government and the global community in offering our deepest condolences to all those affected by this heartbreaking event. We stand in quiet support of the people of India, the families who have lost loved ones, and all communities coping with this tragedy.”

The UAE and India share a long-standing relationship grounded in cultural, economic, and people-to-people ties. During moments of crisis, both nations have consistently supported one another through gestures of compassion and cooperation.

This message of condolence is a testament to that enduring friendship — a reminder that grief knows no borders, and in the face of loss, humanity unites.
