A tram collided with a shop in central Oslo on Tuesday morning, resulting in injuries to four people, including the tram driver. The incident occurred while the tram, carrying approximately 20 passengers, derailed off its tracks at an intersection on Storgata, one of Oslo’s main thoroughfares, and crashed into a computer shop.
Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, cordoning off the area as they assessed the situation. Images captured at the site showed that most of the first carriage of the blue tram had penetrated into the computer store, causing significant damage. The building, a four-storey structure, has since been evacuated and is under examination for potential structural damage by authorities.

Police stated, "We are working to get an overview of the scope, but there is a lot of damage to the store." Fortunately, while everyone involved received treatment at the scene, none sustained serious injuries.
Among those present was Thomas Larsen, a 41-year-old demolition worker, who narrowly avoided being struck by the tram as it derailed. He described how he was riding an electric scooter down the street when the tram suddenly went off the tracks in front of him. "I hit the brakes. Three seconds later, I would have been under it," he recounted, expressing his shock that such an accident could occur in the heart of the city.
The cause of the tram's derailment has not yet been determined, and police are currently awaiting the arrival of officials from the Norwegian Safety Investigation Authority to further investigate the incident. Authorities are actively working to gather more information, and updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
