The project has been approved as part of the transformational projects for the second cycle of 2023-2024 under the performance agreements cleared by the Prime Minister’s Office. These transformative projects are seen as innovative initiatives that propel the nation towards a more competitive future, expected to impact various sectors significantly in a short period.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICP, emphasized in a media statement that the project will facilitate the issuance of health insurance for tourist visas through an electronic platform at the state level. This will simplify the process for tourists applying for visas via the service system.
Al Khaili noted that the adoption of this project aligns with the 'We Are the Emirates 2031' vision, contributing to building the most dynamic and competitive economy globally. He stated, "The implementation of this project aims to achieve the authority’s priorities and objectives by supporting the tourism sector in the UAE, encouraging visitors from around the world, and providing them with health insurance for emergency cases."
He also highlighted that the project would bolster the health sector by increasing the utilization rates of health facilities and enhancing operational returns. Additionally, it will govern and simplify the procedures for issuing health insurance for tourist visas to customers, automating the health insurance processes via the electronic platform that manages pricing.
