The Toronto Raptors continued their good form with a big 126-113 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The match was played on Thursday night in Cleveland. Toronto showed strong teamwork, good shooting, and strong defense throughout the game. With this win, the Raptors moved to a season-high two games above the .500 mark. They also continued their strong record against Eastern teams on the road this season.
Scottie Barnes was the main star for the Raptors. He scored 28 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, made eight assists, and blocked five shots. His performance showed how important he is to the team on both offense and defense. Barnes helped Toronto control the tempo of the match and made smart plays at key moments.
Immanuel Quickley also played an important role. He scored 25 points and helped the Raptors keep pressure on Cleveland. His shooting from outside and his fast drives to the basket made it difficult for the Cavaliers to defend. Quickley's scoring helped Toronto build and maintain their lead.
Jakob Poeltl added 20 important points for the Raptors. He played strong inside the paint and gave the team both scoring and defensive stability. Jamal Shead came from the bench and had eight points along with seven assists. His passing helped Toronto keep the ball moving and create open shots. RJ Barrett added nine points and nine rebounds and gave the team good balance on the wings.
Donovan Mitchell tried to keep the Cavaliers in the game. He scored 31 points and was excellent from the free-throw line, making 15 out of 17 attempts. However, even his strong performance was not enough to stop the Raptors. Nae'Qwan Tomlin added 18 points and De’Andre Hunter scored 16 points. Despite this, Cleveland could not match Toronto’s scoring rhythm.
The game changed in the second quarter when the Raptors outscored the Cavaliers 38-24. Barnes scored nine points in that quarter, and Quickley added eight. Toronto’s fast offense and strong defending helped them enter halftime with a 67-54 lead. From that point, the Raptors remained in control.
Cleveland started the first quarter well. Mitchell scored nine points in the opening period and helped the Cavaliers take a 30-29 lead. But the lead did not last long. On the first possession of the second quarter, Barnes scored a layup that gave Toronto the lead, and the Raptors never gave it back.
The Cavaliers were missing some important players. All-Star point guard Darius Garland was out due to rehabilitation for a left great toe injury. Jaylon Tyson was unavailable due to a concussion. Lonzo Ball did not play because it was the second game of a back-to-back schedule. The missing players affected Cleveland’s rhythm and ball movement.
This was the fourth game of a five-game road trip for the Raptors. They now have a 3-1 record on this trip. Their final match will be against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. The team will hope to finish the trip with another win and carry this momentum forward.
