On Thursday, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in response to the recent vandalism at the facility. The situation at RG Kar Medical College escalated on Wednesday night when a violent mob attacked and vandalized the emergency ward and other areas of the hospital. The intensity of the vandalism led protesters to pause their demonstration to ensure the safety of female doctors participating in the protests. Police intervention, including the use of tear gas, was required to disperse the mob.
