Three Injured as Rocket Barrage from Lebanon Strikes Northern Israel

The Israeli military reported that it had launched an airstrike on a rocket launcher in southern Lebanon after approximately 90 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel, resulting in injuries to three civilians. The incident marked an escalation in cross-border hostilities, with Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) attributing the attack to Hezbollah militants.

According to the IDF, around 80 rockets were launched within a brief five-minute window, targeting the Krayot, a cluster of communities north of Haifa, and the Galilee region. Many rockets were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, yet several struck within the area, causing alarm and damage. Additionally, the IDF reported the interception of two explosive drones launched from Lebanon, which were detected over the Galilee.

Following this initial barrage, Hezbollah militants fired another wave of 10 rockets at northern Israel, specifically aiming at the Western Galilee and Krayot. While most of these landed in open fields, some managed to strike populated areas, compounding the day’s unrest.

Israel's Magen David Adom emergency service confirmed that rockets had impacted at least nine separate locations across northern Israel, resulting in injuries to several individuals. Among the wounded were a 17-year-old boy, a 52-year-old man, and a 75-year-old man, while another man sustained injuries as he hurried to reach a shelter. Magen David Adom teams were dispatched across the affected areas to assist civilians and provide medical care.

The National Fire and Rescue Authority of Israel reported that the rocket attacks also ignited fires, with several vehicles burned and a number of structures damaged. Notably, a rocket hit an apartment building and another struck a bus stop, causing significant property damage but, fortunately, no fatalities.

The IDF reported that throughout the day, a total of approximately 175 rockets were fired at northern Israel from Lebanon, underscoring the scope of the assault and the intensity of the ongoing clashes.
