In a tragic incident, three Emirati children from the Al Kaabi family lost their lives in a house fire in Al Ain on Friday morning. The children, aged between 6 and 13, were sleeping in an annex at their grandfather’s home in Nahil when the fire broke out.
The victims were identified as 13-year-old Dhiab Saeed Mohammed Al Kaabi, 10-year-old Salem Ghareeb Mohammed Al Kaabi, and 6-year-old Hareb. According to their uncle, the fire started at around 9:30 am while the children were still asleep.
The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the annex rooms. As the fire spread, thick smoke filled the area and reached the room where the children were sleeping. Sadly, they inhaled the heavy smoke, which caused them to suffocate.

Their grandfather, upon realizing the situation, rushed in to save them. However, he suffered minor burns during his attempt to rescue them. Thankfully, he received medical treatment and is now reported to be in good health.
Emergency services were immediately called, and the relevant authorities were notified. However, the children could not be saved.
The incident has left the Al Kaabi family and the local community in deep sorrow. Authorities are investigating the cause of the electrical short circuit and have urged the public to follow safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
