In response to the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), a third Emirati aid ship is set to depart for El Arish, Egypt, within the next two days. This initiative is part of the ongoing 'Gallant Knight 3' operation, reflecting the UAE's commitment to humanitarian efforts. The ship will carry an extensive cargo of 4,500 tonnes, encompassing diverse relief materials such as food, medical supplies, nutritional supplements for children, winter clothes, shelter materials, and other essentials aimed at supporting the people of Gaza.
The decision to send this aid ship aligns with the broader objectives of the 'Gallant Knight 3' operation, which seeks to provide assistance and address critical needs arising from recent events affecting Gaza. Sheikh Hamdan's directives underscore the nation's dedication to humanitarian causes, and the timing of the aid shipment coincides with the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The goal is to meet the essential needs of Gaza's population during this sacred period.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), working in collaboration with ground teams, has devised a comprehensive plan to ensure the efficient distribution of aid cargo to the areas in Gaza most significantly impacted by recent events. Emphasizing a commitment to alleviating significant humanitarian challenges facing Palestinians, the focus includes providing adequate food supplies during Ramadan.
Notably, this marks the third such aid shipment as part of the ongoing 'Gallant Knight' operations. In December 2023, the UAE dispatched its first aid ship to El Arish, carrying 4,016 tonnes of various relief items, including food, shelter materials, and medical supplies. Subsequently, a second aid shipment took place in February, delivering 4,303 tonnes of essential items to Gaza.
This continuous humanitarian effort highlights the UAE's dedication to supporting those in need and its commitment to fostering stability and well-being in the region, particularly during crucial times such as the Holy Month of Ramadan.
