Telangana Bus Conductor and Nurse Deliver Baby on Bus, Saving Mother and Newborn

In a remarkable act of quick thinking and compassion, a bus conductor and a nurse successfully delivered a baby on a bus in Telangana. The incident occurred while Sandhya, a local resident, was traveling to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and unexpectedly went into labor.

As Sandhya began experiencing severe labor pains, the bus conductor, G. Bharti, and a nurse onboard took immediate action to assist her. The bus was en route when the emergency unfolded. Upon reaching Nachahalli, Garbini, the situation escalated, prompting Bharti and the nurse to step in and help deliver the baby safely.

VC Sajjanar, Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), shared the details of this extraordinary event on X (formerly Twitter). He highlighted the swift response of Bharti and the nurse, noting their crucial role in ensuring both the mother and newborn were cared for. Sajjanar expressed gratitude for Bharti’s bravery and prompt action, emphasizing the commitment of TSRTC employees to passenger welfare beyond their typical duties.

In his post, Sajjanar wrote, "The mother and child are safe thanks to the quick and skilled intervention of G. Bharti and the nurse. Their actions reflect a profound sense of service and responsibility, showcasing the dedication of our RTC staff to the well-being of passengers."

The post, shared on August 19, has garnered significant attention, amassing over 35,000 views and nearly 2,000 likes. Many comments have praised the conductor and nurse for their heroic efforts. 

One commenter suggested, "Thanks to the lady conductor Bharti and the nurse for their humanity. RTC should consider offering free travel for life to the child born on the bus."
