In a devastating turn of events, a 16-year-old Brazilian boy, deeply distressed over having his cell phone confiscated, committed a horrific act by fatally shooting his parents and sister in their family home in Sao Paulo. The tragic triple homicide unfolded on Friday but remained concealed until Monday when the boy reached out to the police and confessed, as disclosed by the local security ministry.
According to Roberto Afonso, the chief investigator, the teenager, who is adopted, became "extremely frustrated" after his parents took away his phone following a heated altercation. Subsequently, the boy accessed his father's service gun and callously shot him in the back. He then proceeded upstairs and mercilessly shot his 16-year-old sister in the face. Upon his mother's return home several hours later, he callously took her life using the same firearm.

The victims, identified as the boy's 57-year-old father and 50-year-old mother, suffered an unimaginable fate at the hands of their own child. Afonso expressed the need to delve deeper into the psychological aspects of the incident, pondering whether the boy's actions stemmed from underlying psychological turmoil.
In addition to probing the teenager's solitary involvement, authorities are exploring the possibility of external influence, including whether the boy communicated with anyone via phone during the ordeal.
For an excruciating duration from Friday to early Monday, the boy remained confined within the house alongside the lifeless bodies. Astonishingly, he even ventured out for mundane activities like visiting the gym and purchasing items from a bakery. Despite these outings, his seething anger endured, as evidenced by his disturbing act of stabbing his mother's corpse with a knife on Saturday.
The boy, now detained in a juvenile detention center, exhibited an unnervingly detached demeanor while discussing the heinous crimes. As per Brazilian law, minor defendants benefit from special legislative protections and cannot be subjected to trial as adults. The harrowing incident serves as a grim reminder of the complex issues surrounding juvenile justice and the profound impact of unchecked emotional distress on young minds.
