Afghanistan has transformed dramatically in the last four years, claims visiting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, as he emphasized the country’s fight against terrorism. Speaking during his maiden visit to India, Muttaqi asserted that not a single terrorist group, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, operates from Afghan soil today.
"Not an inch of land is controlled by them in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan against whom we carried out an operation in 2021 has transformed," he said, highlighting the Taliban’s efforts to eliminate terrorist networks.
The minister also sent a clear message to Pakistan: peace requires action. "Let other countries act against such terror groups like Afghanistan did for peace," Muttaqi said, emphasizing that a stable region benefits everyone.

Strengthening India-Afghanistan Ties
Muttaqi’s visit marked a significant step in India-Afghanistan relations, with New Delhi restoring full diplomatic engagement. India also plans to upgrade its Technical Mission in Kabul to a full embassy, signaling deep interest in Afghanistan’s progress.
Praising India’s swift response after the recent earthquake, Muttaqi said, "Afghanistan looks at India as a close friend. We want relations based on mutual respect, trade, and people-to-people connections." He stressed the need for open trade routes and proposed joint talks with the US to enhance trade cooperation.
Addressing Security Concerns
Responding to reports of a recent blast near the border, Muttaqi accused Pakistan of involvement. "There has been an attack near the border. Problems cannot be solved like this. Afghanistan has peace and progress after 40 years. No one should have a problem with it," he said. He also warned that Afghanistan’s resilience should not be tested, recalling past foreign interventions by the Soviet Union, America, and NATO.
Balancing Regional Relations
While Kabul desires better relations with Islamabad, Muttaqi emphasized that cooperation cannot be one-sided. The minister’s visit underscores Afghanistan’s intent to secure peace, strengthen regional ties, and create opportunities for trade and development.
