Tahawwur Rana, one of the main people accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, will arrive in India this afternoon. This is a very important update in the 26/11 case, where many innocent people lost their lives. He is being brought to India on a special flight after the top court in the United States rejected his final request to stop the extradition. This means there are no more legal barriers in his return to India.
Once he lands in Delhi, Rana will be taken straight to the office of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). He will travel in a bulletproof vehicle with a heavy security team around him. Special police forces and SWAT commandos have been deployed at Palam airport to make sure everything goes smoothly. The Delhi Police’s Special Cell is also on high alert to prevent any security issues.

Rana is originally from Pakistan but holds Canadian citizenship. For now, he is expected to stay in a high-security cell at Tihar Jail in Delhi. Later, he may be moved to Mumbai and kept in Barrack Number 12 at Arthur Road Jail. This is the same strong jail cell where Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist caught alive during the 26/11 attack, was held during his trial and before his execution.
Security teams are working round the clock to ensure full safety during this transfer. Authorities are calling this a major development in the long fight for justice in the 26/11 Mumbai terror case.
