- The number of individuals taking more than three trips per year has surged by 25% in 2023 compared to 2019.
- Tier-2 and tier-3 cities are increasingly embracing spiritual journeys, with searches for destinations with or around religious spots witnessing a remarkable 97% growth in the last two years.
- Weekend getaways remain popular, with searches for destinations like Jim Corbett witnessing a 131% increase in 2023 compared to the previous year.
- Dubai, Bangkok, and Singapore top the list of international travel destinations, while emerging destinations like Hong Kong, Almaty, and Paro see significant growth in interest.
When, With Whom, and How India Travels:
- Family travel bookings have seen a notable 64% increase in 2023 compared to 2022, followed by a 23% growth in solo traveler bookings.
- Flight booking preferences reveal that 50% of all domestic flyers opt for flights between 9 am and 6 pm, with a significant portion of bookings made spontaneously, especially for domestic flights.
- Accommodation booking trends show that 56% of domestic leisure hotel bookings are made less than a week before travel, while 33% of international hotel bookings are made at least 30 days in advance.
