Two days after actor Govinda was discharged from Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital, his wife Sunita Ahuja revealed that she only found out about his hospitalisation after watching his interview online. In her latest vlog, Sunita shared that she was out of town and unaware of the late-night medical emergency.
Govinda Fainted at Home, Rushed to Hospital
Earlier this week, Govinda fainted at home around 1 a.m. and was immediately taken to the hospital. After undergoing several tests and being kept under medical supervision, he was discharged later that afternoon. The actor interacted with the media upon leaving the hospital and assured everyone he was “completely fine.”
Sunita, who was travelling at the time, said she was disconnected from the situation. Responding to a fan’s concern, she explained,
“Govinda is completely fit. He was working out to prepare for his new film Duniyadaari when he fainted.”
‘He Over-Exercised,’ Says Sunita
She further added that she had just watched her husband’s interview after returning home and learned that he suffered fatigue due to over-exercising.
“But he’s doing well now. Don’t worry,” she reassured fans.
Govinda himself stated after being discharged that the fainting spell was due to “fatigue,” and he encouraged people to include yoga and pranayam in their daily routine.
Sunita Reacts to Govinda’s Public Apology Over the “Chor” Remark
Sunita Ahuja has often made headlines for bold comments about her relationship with Govinda and their long-standing marital issues. In the same vlog, she addressed another recent controversy involving a podcast appearance where she had narrated a personal incident and used the term “chor.”
Following the backlash, Govinda apologised publicly to one of his family priests, which Sunita says she did not approve of.
Sunita clarified:
“I didn’t like how Govinda apologised with folded hands. I never mentioned anyone’s name. I was only sharing a personal experience. If anyone felt hurt, I apologise to them and to all priests. But Govinda didn’t need to name anyone or apologise publicly.”
She added that Govinda has multiple priests and that she felt “very bad” that he had to apologise because of something she had said.
A Marriage That Stayed Private for Years
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja married in March 1987 but kept their marriage a secret to maintain his rising stardom. Their daughter Tina was born in 1988, after which the relationship became public. The couple welcomed their son Yashvardhan in 1997.
