In his speech, His Highness said that the University of Sharjah’s name has now reached 116 countries around the world. This is thanks to a group of over 46,000 graduates. He also welcomed all the graduates and guests to the event. His Highness also thanked Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, for founding the university and helping raise its name globally.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed shared that, a few years ago, he asked the university leaders and the Alumni Association to think of new ways to stay connected with graduates. As a result, Alumni Association branches were set up in several countries. Meetings, workshops, and international conferences were also held. His Highness praised the efforts of the Alumni Association and encouraged UOS officials to keep up the good work. He also suggested that a meeting be held with all the graduates to come up with a plan to help the university grow.
His Highness showed pride in the achievements of the graduates and reminded them that they are always an important part of the UOS family.
Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, also spoke at the ceremony. He thanked Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for his continuous support of the university’s growth. He also said that His Highness’s presence at the ceremony shows his care for the graduates and their role in bringing honor to the university.
Dr. Al Nuaimi addressed the graduates, telling them how proud UOS is of their success. He also shared that the university is working to improve and grow in areas like Emiratisation, academic excellence, research, and digital changes.
Dr. Al Nuaimi spoke about the university’s focus on technology and how it is becoming an important part of student learning. He said that UOS is preparing students for the job market by teaching them about new technology and how it can be used in different fields.
He also mentioned that UOS is working with businesses and government bodies to offer job chances for graduates. They are also helping those who want to start their own businesses with special programs to support them.
Dr. Al Nuaimi ended his speech by wishing all the graduates success. He reminded them that they are role models in being creative, responsible, and true to their values. He also said that UOS will always be there to help them with any advice or support they need.
The ceremony included a performance by students from the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts. UOS graduate Hamad Musa Al Ali also gave a musical performance. Dr. Amr Awadallah, an expert in technology, also spoke about how technology is changing many industries and how students can use it to help them during their studies and in their jobs.
At the end of the event, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed honored those who supported the University of Sharjah Alumni Association. He thanked them for their help and wished them all the best.
His Highness also visited the Entrepreneurs Exhibition, where graduates showed their products, many of which were supported by the Sharjah Foundation for Pioneering Entrepreneurs, called "Ruwad." He met with the students and encouraged them to keep working on their ideas. His Highness promised that UOS would continue to support all graduates and students who want to start their own businesses.
The ceremony was attended by important people such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Dr. Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, Hamad Ali Al Mahmoud, and Humaid Majul Al Nuaimi. Many members of UOS's staff, graduates, and sponsors were also there to celebrate the graduates' achievements and the success of the university.
