Faculty members from the University of Exeter will visit the University of Khorfakkan, as well as the upcoming Khorfakkan Centre for Marine Sciences and Aquatic Life, where their expertise will support research activities, helping to elevate UFK to international scientific standards.

His Highness thanked the University of Exeter for their long-standing collaboration with Sharjah, praising their commitment to advancing knowledge and education for the benefit of humanity. He highlighted the importance of their role in developing academic institutions in Sharjah and fostering strong international partnerships.

Dr. Lisa Roberts, President of the University of Exeter, expressed her gratitude to His Highness for his continued support of educational initiatives in Sharjah. She commended his efforts in nurturing the next generation of students and enhancing higher education in the region. She also acknowledged Exeter's long history of academic partnerships with Sharjah, which have been instrumental in advancing various scientific fields and supporting student development.

The agreement also includes plans for faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and specialized studies that will benefit students and contribute to the development of the region. The student exchange programs between UFK and the University of Exeter will provide participants with a rich scientific experience, broadening their academic and professional horizons.

As part of the agreement, UFK students specializing in marine sciences and aquatic life will have the opportunity to spend their fourth year at the University of Exeter, provided they meet admission criteria. Graduates of UFK’s undergraduate programs will also have the chance to pursue master’s degrees at Exeter, further enhancing their education.

Following the signing ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, accompanied by officials from UFK, Exeter University, and the Board of Trustees, visited the site of the Khorfakkan Centre for Marine Sciences and Aquatic Life. The delegation reviewed the project's progress, with His Highness inspecting the key facilities that will be available to researchers and students at the center.
