Sharjah — His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, extended his commendations to the team behind the newly inaugurated Sharjah Quran channel during a recent phone call on the Direct Line program. The channel, launched by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, aims to enhance the accessibility and clarity of Quranic recitations.
During the call, Sheikh Dr. Sultan highlighted the significance of selecting appropriate recitations and adhering to pause guidelines to ensure the verses' meanings are conveyed accurately. He noted that while recitations generally include clear pauses at the end of verses, some reciters pause due to breathlessness, which can disrupt the verse’s flow and meaning. His Highness advised that, in such cases, reciters should repeat the last two words of the verse before pausing and then resume to complete the recitation properly. He urged the channel’s team to pay meticulous attention to linguistic nuances and exceptions in Arabic to uphold the quality of recitations.

In addition to his praise for the Quran channel, Sheikh Dr. Sultan shared updates on a new infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion in Kalba. He announced plans to construct a multi-story car park for visitors to the Hanging Gardens, a popular attraction that has recently experienced significant visitor congestion.
Sheikh Dr. Sultan explained that the new car park will address access issues caused by traffic jams at the entrance to Kalba. The proposed facility will be situated in a large, low-lying area adjacent to the Hanging Gardens, with plans to build three or four levels of parking, accommodating approximately 300 to 400 vehicles. An elevator will also be installed to provide convenient access for visitors who may have difficulty using stairs.
The initiatives reflect Sheikh Dr. Sultan's ongoing commitment to enhancing cultural and public amenities in Sharjah, aiming to improve both spiritual and practical aspects of life in the emirate.
