The signing ceremony took place with the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the Chairperson of the SRTI Park, and Hussein Al Mahmoudi, the CEO of the Park. Marina Donohoe, the Head of Research and Innovation at the Irish Development Agency, was also there to mark this important occasion. Dr. Asma Mahmoud Fikri, the Director of Government and Institutional Partnerships at the Park, attended the ceremony as well.
This new agreement opens up many opportunities for cooperation between both parties in areas like advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and emerging technologies. The goal is to help companies reach new markets more easily, especially with the growing trade between the UAE and Ireland.
Hussein Al Mahmoudi called this partnership a major step forward in improving commercial and research relations between the UAE and Ireland. He explained that the SRTI Park is becoming a global hub for innovation, attracting businesses and ideas from all over the world. He also highlighted that Ireland's experience in advanced manufacturing, clean technologies, and precision engineering will be a valuable addition to the Park’s ecosystem.
Marina Donohoe shared that this agreement is an important moment in strengthening ties between Ireland and the Gulf countries. She emphasized that Sharjah is a perfect place for Irish companies focused on advanced manufacturing and precision engineering, offering new chances for research, development, and industrial partnerships between the two countries.
Dr. Fikri also noted that this agreement is the result of a year of successful collaboration between the SRTI Park and the Irish Development Agency. During this time, both sides have organized visits, trade delegations, and shared expertise.
With this partnership, both the SRTI Park and the Irish Development Agency are aiming to achieve several key goals. These include offering joint commercial and investment opportunities, helping businesses expand into both the Sharjah and Ireland markets, and launching training programs that will support companies in adjusting to different business environments.
