The launch event emphasized Dubai PodFest's role as a significant platform for both Arab and international initiatives aimed at enhancing the podcasting industry. Mahfoudha Abdullah, Project Manager of Dubai PodFest, noted, “We are proud that Dubai PodFest serves as both an Arab and international platform for launching numerous innovative initiatives that support the Arab podcasting industry.” She further highlighted the significance of unveiling this unique podcast for children during the festival, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
In addition to its original programming, the Shamandar podcast will feature collaborative efforts with prominent creators who resonate with young audiences. This includes partnerships with Adam Wa Mishmish, a children’s platform that blends music and education, and Dar Al Salwa, an award-winning independent publishing house dedicated to Arabic children’s and young adult literature. These collaborations aim to enhance the podcast’s offerings and ensure that each story resonates deeply with listeners, enriching their connection to their language and culture.
The trial phase of the Shamandar podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts and other streaming platforms, with new episodes scheduled for regular release. Sowt's initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing young minds and expanding their horizons through engaging and educational content, marking a significant contribution to the Arabic podcasting landscape.
