South Korean President Lee Jae-myung is scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates on Monday, November 17, for a landmark state visit, marking his first official trip to the UAE since taking office. During the visit, he is set to hold high-level talks with UAE President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to explore ways to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing economic and development partnerships, with particular emphasis on advancing both the Special Strategic Partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership (CEPA) between South Korea and the UAE. Both countries aim to identify new avenues for trade, investment, and technological collaboration that can benefit their economies and reinforce long-term ties.
In addition to economic topics, the leaders will review regional and international issues of mutual interest. The visit comes at a time when the UAE and South Korea are seeking to strengthen strategic ties in areas such as renewable energy, infrastructure development, defense, and innovation-driven industries.
This visit also underscores the UAE’s continued commitment to expanding partnerships with Asian nations, while providing South Korea an opportunity to enhance its diplomatic and economic footprint in the Gulf region. Officials from both sides have indicated that the talks could lead to new agreements and joint initiatives aimed at fostering closer cooperation across multiple sectors.
President Lee’s visit is being closely watched by business communities and policymakers, as it is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment and create new opportunities for collaboration in key industries.
