BELGRADE, Serbia — A devastating house fire in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad early Friday morning resulted in the deaths of six people, including four children. The fire broke out around 3 a.m. in the residential area located approximately 90 kilometers (54 miles) north of Belgrade, Serbia’s capital.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed the tragic incident, revealing that emergency services arrived to find all the victims already deceased. According to state television channel RTS, the emergency medical team confirmed the fatalities upon arrival at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have been triggered by an electric scooter that was charging at the time of the incident. This preliminary finding is based on the evidence collected at the site.
