His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasized the significant evolution of Gitex Global, highlighting its transformation into a comprehensive exhibition focused on technology and emerging companies. In a recent tweet on the X platform, Sheikh Mohammed noted, “The UAE is hosting this week Gitex Global, one of the largest technology exhibitions in the world. Gitex has become a group of exhibitions dedicated to technology, start-ups, AI, smart mobility, cyber-security, and more. More than 180,000 specialists from over 180 countries are participating in it.”
He further elaborated on the rapid pace of technological advancement, stating, “Technology is growing rapidly and Dubai is growing with it at the same pace. We have always invested in keeping up with the technological leaps worldwide. Today, Dubai is hosting the world, contributing to leading these changes.”
In addition to Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, visited the Expand North Star 2024 exhibition. This event stands as the world’s largest super connector gathering for startups and investors. Organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the exhibition is being held from October 13 to 16 at Dubai Harbour.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan toured the exhibition, which has attracted 70,000 specialists, 1,800 startups from over 100 countries, and 1,200 investors managing more than a trillion dollars in assets. He took the opportunity to review offerings from 400 AI companies participating in the event, delving into innovative solutions that enhance digital ecosystems and technology infrastructure.
Sheikh Hamdan underscored the exhibition's unique platform, which provides startups, investors, and technology leaders an opportunity to explore growth prospects in Dubai. He noted the importance of this event in shaping the future of the digital economy. He stated, “Hosting this event alongside Gitex reinforces Dubai’s prominence in the global tech entrepreneurship and investment landscape. It raises the UAE’s status as a hub for innovation and future industries, attracting leading companies, talent, and investors in the technology sector.”
As Gitex enters its 44th edition, it solidifies its position as the world’s largest tech and startup event, poised to redefine the global digital economy and AI ecosystem. The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 14 to 18, promising to be more influential than ever with an expanded program designed to transform the UAE into an epicenter for AI and technological innovation.
