The meeting, which also included His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between the UAE and Kuwait. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed the Kuwaiti dignitary and underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, particularly following the recent signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Executive Programmes during the fifth session of the UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee, which took place earlier in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that the ongoing progress in UAE-Kuwait relations is a continuation of the deep-rooted fraternal ties established by the late leaders Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of the UAE and Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait. These foundational relationships have paved the way for the current collaborative efforts between the two nations.
Emphasizing the shared vision for development, Sheikh Mohammed noted that the partnership between the UAE and Kuwait is growing stronger under the guidance of the current leaders: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait. Sheikh Mohammed extended his warmest wishes for the continued prosperity of Kuwait and its people under Sheikh Mishal’s leadership.
The discussions also covered strategies to enhance trade and tourism between the UAE and Kuwait, with a focus on leveraging popular attractions in both countries. There was a shared emphasis on involving the private sector and exploring new investment opportunities to further the ambitious goals of both nations, aiming for a brighter future for their citizens.
In addition, the meeting addressed significant regional and international issues, particularly the current situation in the Middle East. Both sides explored strategies to tackle regional challenges, with a strong focus on promoting security, stability, and working towards comprehensive peace.
The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports and Emirates Airline; Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority; along with various Sheikhs and senior officials.
The discussions underscored the commitment of both nations to fostering a strong partnership that builds on historical ties and addresses contemporary challenges, ensuring continued collaboration and mutual benefit for the UAE and Kuwait.
