The meeting addressed the council’s priorities and future plans for developing the smart autonomous systems sector in the emirate. Discussions focused on creating an integrated strategy to build the infrastructure needed for smart systems. The council also considered updating the legislative framework to support the expansion of smart autonomous systems across land, sea, and air. This is part of the emirate’s broader goal to enhance its research and development ecosystem in key sectors.
In addition, the council reviewed the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster’s updates and programs. The SAVI cluster is designed to solidify the emirate's position in transportation technologies by focusing on smart and autonomous vehicles. It aims to support innovative transportation methods through advanced facilities and services and is projected to contribute between AED 90 billion and AED 120 billion to the GDP.
