Sharjah is taking a significant step to elevate its media presence and promote community values with the launch of the Media Office of the Sharjah Family and Community Council. The initiative comes through an Emiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member, marking a new era in media governance and community engagement across the emirate.
The office, headquartered in Sharjah city, will operate under the supervision of the Sharjah Family and Community Council and carry a legal personality, giving it full authority to execute its objectives. Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi will lead the office and has the discretion to appoint a team to manage its operations and affiliated entities. Additional branches may be established across the emirate to expand its reach.

The Media Office is designed to strengthen Sharjah’s visibility and influence both locally and internationally, particularly in promoting the emirate’s identity, family values, and community initiatives. It will serve as a central hub for media strategy, training, and communication, ensuring transparency and fostering public trust through effective engagement channels.
Key functions of the office include:
Formulating policies for media practices across council-affiliated institutions.
Overseeing media activities and enhancing institutional performance.
Developing strategic plans, crisis communication strategies, and training programs.
Building a comprehensive media archive documenting the initiatives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi and related institutions.
Organizing conferences, workshops, and events to showcase Sharjah’s community achievements.
Establishing global partnerships and collaborations to amplify media impact.
Conducting surveys, opinion polls, and research to guide communication strategies.
The office will also manage institutional reputation, foster community engagement through two-way communication, and pursue accreditation and professional certifications to maintain high standards in media governance. By promoting media excellence and strategic communication, the office aims to solidify Sharjah’s standing as a forward-looking, community-focused emirate.
With this initiative, Sharjah demonstrates a strong commitment to innovation, transparency, and the empowerment of family and community programs. The Media Office is expected to become a model for other regional institutions in integrating effective media practices with community development goals.
