Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion and Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, welcomed a distinguished group of dignitaries. This group included prominent figures such as Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office and the UAE Media Council; Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement in Abu Dhabi; Issa bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Azri, Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council in Oman; and Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Land Department, among others.
Among the innovative projects presented was the “Cyber Resilience” initiative by the Sharjah Digital Department. This versatile solution is designed to strengthen cybersecurity in complex digital environments. Utilizing artificial intelligence, the project can swiftly analyze vast amounts of data, detecting potential threats before they escalate into serious attacks. By automating and monitoring tasks, the system provides a comprehensive overview of data correlations, supporting proactive and defensive strategies against emerging cyber threats. This initiative significantly enhances the capacity to respond to cybersecurity challenges, fostering a safe and sustainable environment for both businesses and government institutions.
The Sharjah Archaeology Authority also made headlines with its new “Geographic Archaeological Information System.” This integrated electronic platform offers extensive information about archaeological sites in the Emirate of Sharjah, enabling accurate identification of excavation sites and monitoring work stages through advanced technologies such as satellite imaging, laser technology, and 3D modeling. Issa Yousuf, Director General of the Sharjah Archaeology Authority, highlighted that these advanced technologies are crucial components of modern artificial intelligence tools, which are designed to process and analyze geographic data with high precision. This system not only maintains detailed records of archaeological sites but also documents discovered artifacts and relevant data from scientific studies, enhancing the role of technology in preserving cultural heritage.
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, introduced the "Smart Assistant for Sustainable Tourism." This innovative tool utilizes conversational artificial intelligence to enhance the sustainable tourism experience in Sharjah. Launched as part of the second phase of the "Sharjah Sustainability" project, the smart assistant offers easy access to a comprehensive database on sustainable tourism, responding instantly to user inquiries. Functioning as an advanced chatbot, it enables tourists to obtain detailed information about sustainable tourism and hospitality, reinforcing Sharjah’s reputation as a leading destination for responsible and sustainable tourism.
Additionally, Sharjah Media City "Shams" showcased the "Create with Shams" platform, which leverages artificial intelligence technologies to help users produce professional media content. By utilizing the advanced graphics capabilities of modern computers, this platform enhances processing speed and efficiency, reflecting the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence within the media industry. The integration of AI in content editing and production represents a significant advancement, enhancing creative processes and improving content quality through deep learning and natural language processing technologies.
These initiatives collectively underscore Sharjah's dedication to digital transformation and innovation across various sectors, aligning with global technological advancements and setting a benchmark for smart, sustainable services in the region.
