This morning, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, embarked on a significant visit to the "Above the Clouds" project located atop Al Deem mountain in the serene city of Kalba. Situated at an impressive altitude of 850 meters above sea level, the project stands as a testament to Sharjah's commitment to innovative development and sustainable tourism.
During his visit, His Highness meticulously examined the ongoing construction progress of the "Above the Clouds" retreat, an architectural marvel spanning across 4,700 square meters. Shaped like a graceful crescent, this retreat is set to redefine luxury hospitality in the region. Comprising two floors, the retreat's upper level will feature a sophisticated restaurant, an inviting open café, and a serene reading area. The strategic positioning of the retreat offers visitors unparalleled vistas of Kalba's picturesque coastline and the majestic mountain valleys that surround it, promising an immersive experience imbued with cultural and social significance.
His Highness also delved into the comprehensive road network plans aimed at enhancing accessibility to the new projects. These plans include the construction of two roads spanning a total length of 10 kilometers, along with the development of two bridges. One of the roads will seamlessly connect the Wadi Al Helo Tunnel to the new Sharjah-Kalba Road, while the other will provide access to the mountain peak and its associated development ventures. Designed with three lanes and adhering to stringent safety standards, these roads will facilitate smooth transit for buses and heavy vehicles.
Furthermore, His Highness was briefed on the ambitious design of an international stadium project built to FIFA standards. Set atop Mount Daym at an elevation of 650 meters, this stadium will feature terraced seating offering panoramic views of Kalba city. Alongside VIP platforms, media rooms, commercial services, and healthcare facilities, the stadium will serve as a cornerstone for the Kalba Sports and Cultural Club.
Additionally, His Highness explored plans for a tourist sports hotel adjacent to the "Above the Clouds" retreat. Boasting 100 luxurious rooms overlooking Kalba's captivating coastline, this hotel will be seamlessly connected to the retreat via a dedicated pedestrian path, enhancing the overall guest experience.
Accompanied by esteemed dignitaries including government officials and key stakeholders, His Highness's visit underscores Sharjah's unwavering dedication to pioneering sustainable development initiatives that uplift communities and elevate the tourism landscape of the region.
