Sharjah Ruler Issues Emiri Decree to Establish New Judicial Council

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree to establish a new entity known as the "Judicial Council" in the Emirate of Sharjah. This council will serve as the supreme authority for the judicial system within the emirate, endowed with the legal personality and capacity necessary to fulfill its objectives and exercise its powers. The council will operate with financial and administrative independence, aiding the Ruler in effectively managing and organizing the judiciary.

The Judicial Council will be chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Its membership will include several key figures: the Chairperson of the Judicial Department, the Chairperson of the Sharjah Government Legal Department, the Chairperson of the Court of Cassation, the Chairperson of the Judicial Inspection Department, and two additional members of the judiciary who will be selected by the council itself.

In addition to the establishment of the council, the Decree mandates the issuance of a law to regulate the operations and organization of the Judicial Council in alignment with the legislative procedures currently practiced in Sharjah. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the judicial framework and ensure the effective administration of justice in the emirate.
