Sharjah, UAE – In a celebration of knowledge and excellence, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, was honored with the International Honorary Fellowship from the University of Paris Panthéon-ASSAS. The distinguished accolade, awarded in February 2023, recognizes His Highness’s lifelong dedication to science, culture, literature, and the advancement of education and research.
During the ceremony, His Highness expressed heartfelt gratitude to the university, acknowledging their commitment to enhancing academic programs in law and legislation, which have strengthened educational institutions across the UAE.

The event saw notable attendees, including His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, who highlighted the Ruler’s exceptional contributions to education and culture, reinforcing Sharjah’s role as a leading hub for learning and cultural development.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, praised the recognition, noting that it reflects both the prestige of the fellowship and His Highness’s commitment to scientific and humanitarian causes that benefit the nation and the global community.
Guillaume Létié, Honorary Chancellor of the University of Paris and President of Paris Panthéon-ASSAS University in the UAE, commended the Ruler’s extensive efforts in establishing educational institutions in Sharjah, including the University of Sharjah, which hosted the event. The French Ambassador to the UAE, Nicolas Nemtchenau, further acknowledged His Highness’s international influence in thought, literature, and culture.
This honor adds to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi’s impressive list of accolades, including numerous honorary doctorates from world-renowned universities. His vision has transformed Sharjah into a thriving university city, creating a network of educational institutions that position the emirate as a beacon of academic and cultural excellence regionally and internationally.
