His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Kalba, took the chair during the second meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) held at the university's headquarters on Thursday.
The BoT delved into a range of topics concerning the educational, academic, and administrative facets of the institution. Several decisions were endorsed to advance the university's objectives.
Among the key resolutions, the board ratified the internal regulations governing various domains including academics, administration, finances, graduate studies, and scientific research. Additionally, the organizational structure of the University of Kalba received approval.

Further, appointments were confirmed during the session, with Dr. Ali Al Zaabi appointed as Assistant Director for Community Affairs and Public Relations, Dr. Hassan Saleem as Dean of the College of Business Administration, and Dr. Lafi Mohammed Musa as Dean of the College of Law.
The board scrutinized reports from the Commission for Academic Accreditation visits, particularly evaluating the physical education and sports sciences program. Reports from academic, financial, compliance, and audit committees were also reviewed, focusing on recommendations to foster development across university disciplines and bolster scientific and academic advancements.
The board acknowledged the notable achievements of the University of Kalba, noting its burgeoning student enrollment and ongoing efforts to attract proficient faculty. Discussions also encompassed initiatives by the University of Sharjah to hone administrative skills through specialized training and participation in community and cultural events.
In a side discussion, His Highness reviewed the female students’ forum, emphasizing its role in providing conducive spaces for studying, collaborative work, and relaxation. The facility, equipped with amenities conducive to learning, reflects the university's commitment to fostering a conducive educational environment.
The meeting witnessed the presence of prominent figures including Dr. Suleiman bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Butti Al Muhairi, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Dr. Saif Salem Al Qaydi, Ali Ahmed Al Hosani, Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al Suwaiji, Dr. Maryam Salem Al Marashda, Dr. Justen O'Connor, Faisal Jassim Al Midfa, Aisha Reda Al Bairaq, and Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, reflecting the diverse perspectives contributing to the university's governance and development.
